What are the benefits of vertical mulching?

This process can increase the overall lifespan of your tree by reducing stress from compacted soil. The critical root zones of trees need a consistent supply of oxygen and water. Compacted soil can reduce both significantly. Vertical mulching addresses this issue.

Vertical Mulching can also benefit a tree in over saturated soil. Soil amendments that help to improve drainage can be added.

Will the tree get better immediately after vertical mulching?

When a tree is in a state of decline, reversing this process takes time. Young trees as a rule of thumb bounce back faster. If you have a property with naturally compacted soil and poor drainage, ask your arborist if proactively vertical mulching your tree would be beneficial.

Is organic vertical mulching available?

Yes! Our soil amendments are generally organic. Please specify if you prefer organics so that the consulting arborist does not prescribe a non-organic amendment.
